I was just browsing my Gemeinde website and looking at the things you could notify them of online.
One is change of employer. Do Swiss citizens have to tell them this? It didn’t seem to be aimed at residence permit holders. My husband changed jobs 2 years ago and has definitely not told them about it.
I’ve had 3 or 4 changes of job during the time I was on B, C permits and have been a naturalised Swiss for a number of years and it never crossed my mind to inform the Gemeinde.
It would never even have occurred to me to inform the commune of a job change.
Does the commune even know about the employment status of Swiss citizens?
Our son graduated and got himself a job and definitely didn’t inform the commune about it so unless his employer told them (seems pretty unlikely) they’re not going to know.
You need to check the statutes of your commune. It is not common, but communes can make additional rules… in some places for instance you are required to register a guest if they are staying over for more that a certain number of days and so on.
They provide all kind of statistik about their inhabitants so they seem to know many things. I think they take information about the employment from the tax declaration.
