My husband (EU passport, Swiss B permit, has lived in CH for 7 years) is now leaving his workplace, setting up a GmbH and will proceed to work for a single client in the US as an employee of his own GmbH.
I have C permit.
1. Can you please suggest if he can continue to be based in CH on his working B permit?
2. He will continue to do monthly payments to RAV - will he be able to get unemployment benefits through RAV in case he decides to stop working for the client and will deregister the company?
And another question unrelated to permits: is it mandatory in CH that the last working day is the last day of the month or would it be theoretically possible to agree with the employer to have the last working day in the middle of the month?

Residence permit, yes absolutely, since he's EU. Wouldn't work for Non-EU in most cases.
Unemployment, only under strict conditions. Being on the board of the company or a partner, or if one's situation is equivalent to being self-employed (which clearly would be the case here), all make one ineligible for unemployment benefits, until the controlling role is completely gone. Basically as long as you have a say in how much the employees work or who gets hired or fired, you cannot claim unemployment. Otherwise, for instance, you could as the employer cut your own working hours when business is slow and then as the employee, claim unemployment.
In your husband's case, that would mean he could not receive unemployment benefits until after the company is radiated from the registry of commerce and dissolved or if he sold the company and cut all ties to it.
