Kids flu vaccine color inquiry

Hi,

My two kids went to the pediatrician’s clinic to receive the flu vaccine( fluarix tetra). Since the pediatrician was fully booked, we had a quick appointment with the receptionist. My two kids (aged 14 and 11) said the vaccine itself was yellowish. They told me this at different times, so they were unaware of each other’s observation. I confirmed with them to make sure the color wasn’t misleading, such as from the syringe color or the room light. I emailed the pediatrician for clarification but have not yet received a response. I understand it’s not likely that the clinic would make such mistake, but this yellowish vaccine impression from my kids keeps bothering me.

Have any other parents come across the same situation?

Thanks a lot

Looks like they are right:

Although ChatGPT describes it as ‘opalescent’.

Thanks Shirley.
The yellowish in your photo is the needle part not the vaccine itself right?

That sounds pretty normal to me, lots of vaccines have a yellowish tinge to them.

No, they are the 2 doses. Either way, there’s a yellow component to the jab so I’m guessing that’s the bit your kids saw.

Probably to hide the microchip and bits of chicken foetus…:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The flu vaccines have got complicated. I received the Effuelda which is right for my age group. It looks you got the right one for your kids. I must admit I look away the whole time so would not be very good at picking up strange looking vials.
