Over 30 of them in the city of Zurich!

Therefore, even if there's a standardised management policy, I'd guess that the level of commitment by the individual staff members can hardly be homogeneous across that many branches.

Hello!

After being more of a passive reader of this forum so far, I decided to share my story with childcare in Zurich since we arrived here from the US.

When we came over from California I had wanted a small, individual place for my kids. We went to Children’s First to visit and at the time friends of ours told us not to go there because they had had a really bad experience there. For us it also seemed a bit "over the top " in several areas. We saw a couple of other individual places and finally decided for KidsAtLake. It was a terrible experience, both for us and for the kids. Communication, turnover, program, it seemed that there were no real professional processes in place for many of the issues plus it is outrageously overpriced – they charged us 3800 for 5 days of babycare. The head of the center was pregnant at the time and it seemed to all fall apart because she was the only one really in charge. However then someone recommended globegarden and though I felt it was too big for what we wanted we had a tour in the end. My wife loved it instantly, they had a process in place for hygiene, diaper-changing and everything you can think of, transparent program, lots of activities, and (though we did not expect that) it felt cozy, warm and familiar. So now, our children go to globegarden in Seefeld already for over a year now and they love it and we do, too. The prices are much better than at KidsatLake, our little one (still baby price range) pays 3’000 as opposed to 3’800 before – that is a difference of 9’600 a year, I could almost not believe it. We are at Stadelhofen and can highly recommend it. It is quite booked, but friends of ours went to their new place at Seefeld at Bellerivestrasse. They have a new-born there and are also very happy with it. Over the time I have heard so much about so many centers - good and bad - that I just wanted to share my story plus recommend that everyone makes his or her very own experience. In the end all the recommendations did not help us much. In the end we are now highly appreciative of a place we never expected to be happy with in the first place. There can be a place you fall in love with within a big chain just as much as a small individual center and the other way around. Good look in finding the place that is the best for you and your family.
