L permit counting towards citizenship

Hi, can you help me clarify some confusion about the L permit days and whether or not it qualifies towards the 10 years for citizenship?

I thought it didn't from what I've seen on the Swiss information websites. However, two friends who recently took up citizenship, both said they do count.

I have over 600 days on an L permit so it would save me several months if they do.

I am British with pre-Brexit entitlement.
