I purchased a condo in a building in Zermatt (Valais), Switzerland in 1991.
I financed it with a 40% deposit and 60% mortgage that I took over from the previous owner.
I had a relative (non Swiss National) use the condo for their personal use since then and have never been to the condo since.
The relative paid all the running costs (utilities and service charge) of the condo soon after I purchased the condo until now.
Unfortunately, I now have my suspicion that this relative (Italian national) applied for residency in Switzerland in the last ten years and may have fraudulently transferred the condo into his own name.
Is there an online registry (web site) in Switzerland to check the titled ownership of the property?
You will see on this forum where my mother sold the Swiss building at 60% of the estate agent value of a Swiss company that I was a 50% shareholder and director of without my permission or knowledge of.
Are you conducting some kind of social media experiment along the lines, “I’m quite rich, slightly dim and my family/relatives are out to get me?” Let’s see how much the mainstay EF-member fits my target audience?

Father was Swiss; no problem on that side and he divorced my Italian mother.
Mother is Northern Italian and I learned from doing business in Italy in the late 80's early 90's that Italians just cannot just cannot help themselves.
As my Swiss father used to say; Pinochio came from Italy.
Yeah sorry I do know know your life story and did not research. In any case if you as an individual were the sole owner of a place I don't see how someone can just "put it in their name".
If RE ownership had changed, your mortgage would have turned into an unsecured personal credit. I see no conceivable scenario under which your mortgage bank wouldn't have reacted to that, at the very least they'd have raised the interest rate.
Just wondering. If you were born in UK, possibly never lived in Switzerland as a child (2x counting years for swiss citizenship) and your mother is italian, not swiss.
How did you get swiss citizenship? In Switzerland there is a citizenship by blood rule and in case of mixed marriages children don't get automatically citizenship. As far as I know of course
Now it’s clear, I always thought that swiss citizenship is granted for children automatically only if both parents are swiss.
Anyways, personally I would call the community. I was told that applying for rent if good enough reason to check ownership of the property in the property register, so it shouldn’t be a problem to get it confirmed either orally (as far as I know without costs) or written (with some fee)
