Leaving Switzerland - Cancelling Iway Internet Subscription

Hello guys,

I am leaving Switzerland this week and I announced my internet provider Iway about that. They got back to me saying the next termination period is 31.12.2022.

I find it a bit unfair to pay for 3 months and 2 weeks of services I will not use, so I was wondering if this the standard in Switzerland.

If I send them my Abmeldebestätigung (which I should get tomorrow), is there any chance to have the contract terminated end of this month

Probably not. Check what the details are on cancelling in your contract. If that is shown in the contract you can only hope they will do that.

Ask them. Check your contract. Sometimes places will say sure we can cancel it early but you still have to pay.

I actually never got a "proper" contract from them, just a confirmation of my order and that they installed the required infrastructure (box, etc) at my place. But they do have an AGB that states that the cancellation terms are once a quarter with 30 days announcement.

Eventually, they allowed me to cancel it on short notice, a gesture of good will which I appreciated.
