So...yup lost my job in april 21, then was on chomage untll july and got SCARED as a 48 year old woman who works a very specific job that i would not find work. So i legally and officially left CH to move back to Montreal. I have a swiss citizenship. I have not yet found a job in Montreal. Does anyone know if I would qualify for unemployment insurance again? 6 months later? i worked in CH for 16 years. until april. If any of you could help it would be so kind.
I suggest contacting RAV for the area where you were living before you left - even the advisor who you were signed on with....
But how will you live when you return ? Best case would be to job hunt from where you are (you have a Swiss passport so there are no barriers to job hunting) and find a way forward that way....
Oh I should add the 'rahmenfrist' (eligible period) is 2 years from when you lost your job. Maybe they can re-open it for you if you return... but you won't likely get any back pay and they will probably also penalise you at least 1 or even 3 months for signing off/moving away and signing back on again.
Do you have a job / did you work in Montreal in the 'in between' period ?
I have done this but so far no answer, i think they must be away till the 10th. I will keep trying. I am already applying for work in CH from here. I simply need to be able to have an income while doing so because i have used all my personal savings. its a bit of a pickle
It should be possible to re-register with RAV/OLP using the open Rahmenfrist (qualified period). To avoid penalty days, you will need to show sufficient job search efforts of 10 to 12 job applications per month for the past three months.
The AVIG Praxis ALE regulations state simply (translated):
"Job search efforts during temporary interruption of unemployment
B318a At the time of deregistration, the insured person's attention must be drawn in particular to the obligation to provide evidence of sufficient efforts (quality, number, time of resumption of efforts) for the period prior to re-registration."
