Anyone know of any locksmiths that can replace the locks for a decent cost in the Zurich area?
So moving out of a flat and lost 1 key in the set of 5, now the locks have to be replaced.
It's just the cylinder that needs replacing a 5 minute job, if it's just for your flat then easy & won't cost much, you could do it yourself.
It will depend on the lock system. KABA and the like cannot be handled by the likes of Mister Minit.
Search this forum, this has happened before and can be very expensive...
Actually, they can. Our KABAs are officially handled by Mister Minit.

There's KABA and KABA .... I used to have copies made of some Kaba keys at Mr. Minit (in all kinds of fancy colours so I wouldn't need to try all of them each time) and others they couldn't/refused to copy.
Then I found those (also at Mr. Minits) and that was the end of my problem. Sorry, that bit is ot.
If this is a flat and there is a locking system (e.g. entrance doors, garage, which are opened with the appartment keys) the replacement would have to be organized by Verwaltung. In that case I would expect a bill of minimum CHF 1500, possibly much more in a new build.
However, I think it has been sometimes fought successfully on the grounds of not being reasonable to change cylinders in the whole building in case key was lost in a way which made it not linked to the property (i.e. you know you lost it somewhere on Holiday, other country, flushed it down the loo at a cruise )
