Lohncomputer.ch - Net wages calculator

Hmmm...could be.

It takes commune into account while this one does not.

But still I don't think it will be totally accurate.

This site calculated 32% deductions for me, other sites have said much less and so do my colleagues on the same grade as me and I'm not a high earner. I thought Switzerland was supposed to have much lower taxes than the UK, this doesn't seem to make much difference.

That site calculated for you 32% in deductions, not 32% in taxes. Your pension fund makes up a sizable chuck of those deductions.

Found another one which might be useful.

Quellensteuern

What canton are you living in? A single person without kids in Zurich would have to be earning about CHF20,000 a month to pay 32% in total.

In Canton Vaud the figure is CHF10,000 per month. Both very high wages.

They're so exact (not) they have a graph of the quellensteuer/source income tax for 25 cantons. Yes they forgot Geneva Canton.

Trustworthy eh? But it's made with love in Cologne according to the site.

Does not work for me in any thinkable browser. Anyway is there any other calculator besides lohncomputer.ch? I would like to see some other results, but struggle to find any... thanx!

OMG, nowhere near that! I've just done it again on the Quellensteur calculater and that's more like it! Phew!

According to this calculator I should be getting 1000 CHF more a month

I was playing with the numbers and you cant out a salary higher than 10000 CHF or it wont calculate!!

according to lohncomputer.ch?

this thing has my net at 500Chf below actual. I also am realizing I should really get married and spit out a few rug rats.

I find it weird that it works well for some people and not others

I still think it only gives a ball park figure.

There are a lot of variable deductions which these dont consider.

For some this figure seems fine....for others not.

I know this thread is old but just a word of warning should anyone search for this website, like I've just done.

Last year my income dropped considerably and at the same time, I was no longer taxed at source. I used Lohncomputer to guestimate how much tax money to set aside each month. The amount is calculated was a lower % than I was previously paying but I put this down to the fact that I was now in a lower tax bracket. How wrong I was!

At the end of the year, I was short by 40%. ie. I only had 60% of the money I needed to pay the due tax.

The Swiss government have a calculator, which everyone says is very accurate,

and a salary calculator,
