Why do people assume that i am looking for a medium to predict the future? or tell anything about my personal life?
I made a genuine post with a genuine question because i have a genuine issue and get the piss taken out of, it hurts i have to say. The situation that brought me to make the original post has caused me great pain, having the piss taken out of makes it hurt doubly more. I know i know, post in an open forum get what you given, but i expected people to have some sensibility.
I thank those who have made suggestions i will check them out.
To everyone else, take the piss after you walked a mile into the other person's shoes.
PS the reason i am looking for a medium is to somehow attempt contact with a dearly deceased person, who's death was shocking and i am struggling to come to terms with, a friend suggested i tried this avenue as a possible way of getting closure.
The reason i didn't post this info originally was because i didn't want to give too much away and because its nobody's business really. I assumed people would ignore or be helpful end of.
Anyway, i will try other methods to achieve my aim
I am sorry for your loss and your pain. Each of us handles grief differently, and if you think visiting with a medium may help, then by all means do it.
However, do not let silly teasing on an anonymous internet forum upset you. No one argued with you, per your request. You knew when you posted what you might get, and you got it. You also got some helpful posts. Take those for what they're worth and ignore the rest.
As you no doubt have learned from this shocking loss, life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Wishing you the best on your way to healing.
But I think everybody is just concerned that one of the "psychic mediums" you are undoubtedly going to meet is going to take advantage of your current situation.
Well, sorry, I didn't mean anything from my post except to have a bit of a laugh. Sorry to hear that you had some personal loss. Good luck with finding what you want to find.
Because that's the sort of thing people generally want them for?
You should hardly be surprised at that, as I implied earlier.
Regardless of your reasons, most people will think that the method you're trying to use is just a rip-off or a joke, and by posting here you've laid yourself wide open to it, I'm afraid.
I hope it helps for you anyway, even if it's just a form of therapy.
My husband brought up an interesting point: Someone comes here looking for some sort of emotional support (ie, a medium) and people give her a hard time. However, in another thread someone was looking for an English-speaking church service and I'm sure the thread was full of nothing but supportive answers.
So what's the difference? They're both essentially the same thing: mental support groups who are there to offer an ear for the needy.
Just a random rambling on this "Hudelwetter" evening
If you want the cynical view of the world, there IS no difference.
If one person has an invisible friend, that person is considered to be mentally ill.
If many people have an invisible friend, it's a religion.
Depending upon your scientific views, you could consider time to be unique and linear, which would make things like time travel (and accurate predictions of future events) impossible. If you subscribe to the multiverse theory, it could be that our "reality" is simply one thread of infinitely many threads, which could allow for "premonitions", time travel and other "science fiction" in the future.
It is sad that ppl have fun at the cost of others desperation.
When the poster asked for recommendation it shows tht she was aware of the cheats around, there are hundreds of ads around, magazines, newspaper or even TV channels- yet she gathered courage to ask on an open anonymous forum.
Also when someone asks to see a psychic medium- he or she is at the point of desperation, the person doesn't deserve to be mocked at but needs guidance or emotional support.
medium is NOT a fortune teller( not saying that they don't use the desperation, emotional instability of their client/ sitter)
