Hi all, after applying to countless apartments in Zurich, thought to try our luck also here.
My wife and I (both EU nationals, with work contracts, combined income 160k) are looking for an apartment in Zurich as of November 1 or December 1. In my eyes we tick the boxes for being selected but we had no success yet... We are looking for either a 2.5 or 3.5 room with no particular neighborhood in mind if it is well connected to the city.
Regarding budget we look for something between 2-3k gross/month. If anyone has any leads let me know. We have been hunting with flatfox mostly.
What is the maximum commute you are willing to accept both?
Use that as a basis for comparis.ch search subscriptions (you can add a few km and a bit money to your budget to get the results that are on the edge).
Everybody and their dogs seem to want to rent in Zurich-city. If you want to add yourself to that list, be prepared to wait a long time or just pay more money. The more expensive the apartment, the less competition. But landlords don’t want tenants who can barely afford the apartment either…
Try to apply for flats that are more expensive. The braket you are looking in is the most sought after. It might well be that you earn too much for what you are applying to. Landlordsl ook at that.
If you are looking from abroad it will be even harder. Start with airbnb or a serviced apartment and start looking once you're here
Take a look at these, it’s from February 2023, but the price and location is very good and since there are bunch of available apartments you have a chance: https://www.wi-m.ch/vermietung/erstv…otalsanierung/
Hi, in case you're still looking and are willing to consider a wider search area, my apartment is available for renting. It's at the far end of Zurich lake, in Kanton SZ, which is a bit longer commute to Zurich but great for low taxes. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to know more.
