Pick-pockets are very good; if you're a guy steer clear of the ladies who want change for a coffee because before you know it, your wallet has vanished!
Have a good trip!
Just found this thread again and wanted to say hi to everyone!
Frilipina, can't help you on the apartments front, but if you'd like to meet up once you get to the Lausanne area for coffee/ lunch...or mass , just send me a PM ok?
How about badminton? Anyone still getting to play now that they're here?
If you're in Lausanne and want to meet up for this or just kwentuhan...PM na lang Went to mass in Geneva by chance a few months ago and there was really surprised to see such a big Pinoy community! Wish we had one here as well
I was wondering if any of you are living around zurich and would like to have hangouts or watever?. it'd be great for people to meet eachother & know the place a little more.

I noticed this thread is way back in 2008. I am a filipino and I just arrived here 2 weeks ago. Is there a popular place where my fellow filipinos go to or is there an active community group?

I’m a 23 year old Filipina and arrived in Bern just 2 weeks ago from Leyte, Philippines. I’m here with my husband who is from the UK but works here at the moment. Interested in hearing from any other people from my country.

hello salie! welcome to switzerland, welcome to EF!!
Welcome! I am living in Fribourg but I am in Bern everyday. I have been here for 6 months. If you don't mind to meet up with me, we can set a date and have a coffee and a good discussion.

By the way, I am working as a Receptionist/ Navigator of the aquarium facility of a famous 5-star hotel in Dubai. This is where I met them and they suggested Zurich and Basel where there are also aquariums for possible employment.
i googled for a forum meant for switzerland and found this website. good to hear there are lot of pinoys in this site.
I just moved here in Zug (3mos) and is currently still unemployed so have lots of free time. Would be nice for me to have a chat with kababayans out here to know much about their experiences when they moved here, or also for those who recently moved here like me, to do and learn things together. Hope to meet new friends
for we, Filipinos for sure we are very much qualified to all works/jobs in CH, but only one problem, language. most company in CH require one official language of CH, German(High German, Swiss-German) or French and others. Studying foreign language is too expensive here in our country.
I'll be in Geneva, CH this august 2011.
No. I am married to a Swiss National.
