Make my Bosch dishwasher NOT beep at the end of cycle!

we don't have a Bosch one, but one interesting fact - when we run the dishwasher right away, it will beep at the end. Quick 5 beeps letting you know it is done. If you do nothing, in 30 minutes it beeps again. This time, for an annoying full 30 seconds. If you still do nothing - you are in the clear.

However, an interesting tidbit is, if we set our dishwasher to run on a timer and start 1,2 or x hours later, it won't beep at the end of the cycle.

Doesn't help your situation, unless you have a delay function you could try (which still isn't really a solution, I realize!)

My hands dont beep, but they often clap with glee when i have finished doing the washing up.

Much preferred method, I would not have a dishwasher given the choice.

Well nobody's forcing you to actually use it. My mother had one but she only used it very very rarely.

I am greedy- I've got TWO wouldn't be without them ... 40 for 3 course lunch + coffee with tea and cake after bingo later, on Thursday again.

I don't, the wife uses it, as one would expect.

Sorry, I did try to resist but just could not- had to groan. Are you Blocher? How old is your dishwasher?

She's in her mid-fifties.

I suppose she has small feet too?

Does she beep at the end of her cycle ?

Come on Oldie, I'm a traditionalist. Seven yrs old this Christmas.

OMG Did you buy it for her as her Christmas present?

i nearly gave her age....but that would have got me another groan.

NOoooooo, we moved in at Christmas when the house was completed.

Phew. I had visions of you sleeping in the spare room all that time.

That's only reserved for special occasions.

Okay Gang- update time.

Belgianmum-Thanks for info. I know where the plaque is located but cannot get to it to read the info.Washer built into the cabinets and door opens to cabinets on the side. Thinking if maybe I can get a small hand mirror I MIGHT be able to slide it into the area and read the info....

Anthony1406-Thanks for the link. I attempted to follow the directions but my machine doesn't have a light at the reset button. I think in my photo I cut off the reset button which would be all the way to the right. I still attempted the steps but never got a beep noise and after running the machine this morning sadly STILL had beeps at end of cycle.

Sbrinz- A manual would be great but sadly I don't understand French or German YET. Google translate can only do so much as I am learning with the blasted manual for the microwave/grill oven! (Future help post!) Not sure I am brave or skilled enough to mess with the innards of the washer door. Our landlord is pretty cool. Wouldn't want to tick him off by killing the dishwasher.

SOBEIT-I hear ya. I've lived with dishwashers and gone for years without them. I like having the option. In a SMALL effort to be a bit more environmental we do try to only run it when it is full and back home we often had the dishes air dry vs. using the heat cycle.

So friends--- back to square one... and I do truly appreciate the help offered so far.

ps.apologies if I left anybody out of my response back...

@Just_A_Mutt

I have a Siemens dishwasher (Bosch and Siemens are the same company) that is 2-3 years old. The button layout is quite similar so my guess is the model/SN detail will be found at the same spot.

Have a look at the photos. The SN and model number detail is on the top of the door (left). It is engraved so difficult to see at first. It will not be hidden on the side. Use a flash light to see it better.

Once you have the model number, we can get you the details for how to turn off the beeps. It will be a combo of buttons as mentioned in the other answer but you just need the ones/sequence for your machine.

This is what I did with the toys our boys received as gifts. Prior to giving it to them I opened them and cut the wire to the loudspeaker. They still loved the toys but I didn't have to hear the unnecessary repetitive sound that would drive me crazy otherwise.

Our BOSCH dishwasher does not make a noise. If it would and there wouldn't be a mute button I would fix it like I did with the toys. Remove a couple screws and cut the wire to the loudspeaker. Problem solved

Okay EF friends...

I've been preoccupied with other household fun so the beeping dishwasher was set on the back burner. Finally figured out if I mushed my phone up against the cabinet I could snap a picture of the serial number etc.

So any idea how to get it to stop beeping at the end of cycle?

Verbier- the buttons on your control panel look just like the one on my dishwasher. ( Off topic- I LOVE the picture of your dog!!!!!!)

So first of all you have a EU machine. I found the instructions in French (they might as well be in Greek the way they are written).

Here is what I have in FR:

The layout of the buttons are shown on page 2. The instructions that I think let you turn off the sound is on page 25. They do not say specifically that it turns off the sound, just that it changes things (not clear).

If you can read French, have a go. If not, you will need to find some EN instructions that will probably be as poorly written. Not sure this model was sold in an EN country.
