Only mattresses for rent I can find are expensive ones for seniors/Care at home.
You can find mattresses for free or next to nothing on tutti.ch (and sell them again afterwards). New ones at Ikea are not that expensive, either.
Get them 2nd hand on FB marketplace, and sell them afterwards the same way.
Air mattress
Sounds like a good way to spread bed bugs.
That would be my suggestion too.
They’re very good these days and when the guests have left they can be packed away and stored ready for the next time.
Yes, we slept on one for a couple of months when our housing shipment from the US was delayed … it wasn’t so bad and our guests haven’t complained either.

Thanks. I guess I was unlucky then. I used airmattress from Intex, in fact a rather expensive one, for my last set of guests. 10 year olds and the bed kept losing air through night. Very uncomfortable experience. I wastoo. lazy to pack and return. :-/ Buying second hand or cheap Ikea mattress then.

I have a brand new 90x200 foam mattress that you are welcome to have for free, if you can come pick it up here in Greifensee. I have to warn you, though – it is quite firm. I had ordered it through amazon (it was cheap) for our son’s bed but decided to not use it because it’s too firm for him and we had a better / softer mattress that we ended up taking from his grandmother’s house. I decided to not return the mattress to amazon because it’s too difficult to get it folded and rolled back up and into the box that it came in.
Anyhoo… If you’re interested in the mattress, please send me a private message, as I might not see any replies here in this thread. Again, we are in Greifensee and you can take it for free.
Also, if you are considering air mattresses, we have used this one for camping for years and have been really happy with them (they’re also very inexpensive and very comfortable):

There are larger sizes as well. And I think they’re even cheaper if you order through Amazon.de.
You could also look for free (“gratis”) mattresses on tutti.ch. Sometimes they’re even new, like ours is. I think sometimes people order them online but then don’t like them and then just want to get rid of them quickly and easily.
