Can a GP prescribe them following a diagnosis or does it need to be a psychiatrist?
Thank you
K
As far as I know it’s a psychiatrist. There is a Facebook group Adhd community in Switzerland. Or your insurance can tell you.
I think it is and should be perscribed by psychiatrist. At least that's how it was in my case. Good luck!
My psychiatrist prescribes and it's valid for 3 refills (I call and they post a new prescription). After that, or if I need to change my prescription, I need a checkup.
If my ADD shrink is not available, my diagnosis is on record and shared with my GP and my GP can give me a prescription.
A GP can prescribe them, if they agree to it. Usually that means there is a diagnosis and the treatment course has been discussed with a psychiatrist.
To add.... My GP prescribes mine. I gave her a copy of my test results and analysis a while ago.
My psychiatrist prescribed after positive test.
Please stop giving unsollicited advice that is not helpful.
In the end I found the medication that works for me, thanks anyhow.
