I have some savings in my current EU Bank account ( ~9000 CHF ). I like to transfer it into My Swiss Bank account. If I do so, will I have to pay any tax on it?
Dear Members,
No. You will have to declare it later on in your tax filings if you still have the funds on your bank account. Actually, you should have declared it already anyway.
You don't have to pay tax. Did you declare it in your assets in your last tax return ( am assuming you are not new to Switzerland )?
The amount of tax you pay will depend on the total amount of wealth, which includes this 9'000.--, once declared.
New to Switzerland & Zurich. Still figuring out all the rules and regulations.
Tax residence 2022
Cool. Just to reiterate, this will not be treated as income.
Only if the Swiss investigate and determine it to be from a taxable source e.g. dividend or undeclared income, and that's unlikely on that amount.
He is talking of savings and 2022 is his first year of tax residence here. So no, it will not be taxable.
It is taxable as wealth (not income) in 2022 if they are resident on 31.12.22 and should be declared when filling out the taxes in 2023.
