Just cruising the webcams and what do I see..?
Both Etna and Stromboli are in full eruption.
Been going on for nearly a day now.
I was up there on Etna in 1983 when it was erupting…road was closed, with lava flowing over it, but my Roman friends loaded into the car and talked our way past the guards. Then I was on Kilauea in 1985 when that exploded. I didn’t seek out either–it just happened–but I would like to see Popo.
I had a grandstand view of Popo being naughty from my digs in Cuauhtemoc, he went stratospheric.
