Has anyone recently moved from Geneva to the Vaud with a non EU B permit and got any advice please?

Not recent but what I did was
Asked the Control d’habitants in Geneva for permission,
Found a new place to live,
Registered with Greff in new village.
VD permit came back “employment in Vaud prohibited”
