Many moving companies were asking for cash at the end of the moving. We chose one that required cash.
Do they give a receipt right after they receive the money? In case they say that we will receive it later shall we request a document that clarifies that they received the money?
Provide your own pre-prepared document and ask the signer to both sign and write legibly their name and title. Two copies, one for you and one for them. That is if they don’t have their own.
I also paid cash at the time and specifically asked for a receipt. The cleaning company also wanted cash and he 'didnt have his receipt book on him', then I asked for his name & number, chased him up the next day via phone and insisted he at least confirm in a text message the receipt. Luckily I did because a few weeks later his boss wanted to collect the money too...Got very angry provided the 'proof' incl name and number of the man and told them to sod off. Worked in my case, never heard of them again
