When I moved her from California to Switzerland, I used a pet travel company. Any help is appreciated
Hello, anybody have any information on what we need to do to import our house cat to Spain from Zurich? We already booked our flights and made a call to the vet, who said that they could provide her with a health certificate and pet passport but I should double-check with the Veterinäramt. They then directed me to the Spanish consulate, still awaiting their response...
You must go to customs when you arrive at the airport and declare your cat as an import (don't not do this, just ask forum member ItsJess). They will give you the paperwork for the vet to properly register your cat in the Swiss system.
(Cat needs EU passport and rabies vax)
They’re moving from Switzerland to Spain so they need to know what the procedure is for importing the cat into Spain.
Yeah, sorry, totally read that wrong.
All good, thank you though However... when we brought her to Switzerland, we went through customs and they just sent us on our way, they didn't give us any paperwork or told us to register her
Unfortunately in Spanish, I could not find an english version: https://www.mapa.gob.es/es/ganaderia...s-hurones.aspx
Apparently, if it has an EU passport it seems that you just have to go to a dedicated point with it and declare it to customs, without that you will need a certificate from the vet and a declaration in some EU template and copy of identification and vaccination documents
awesome, thank you so much! Our destination is not one of the dedicated point-of-entries however, I will make sure to get the vet certificate, passport, and updated vaccination records ready for her. Hopefully, those will suffice.
