Practice, practice, practice.
That said, Dave (SAA) also lives in Kanton Zug, and he can definitely give you advice and tips for easier trails for beginners. They also do various courses in Spring.
But again, nothing beats practice.
Well, all we have around here is the Jura hills, not Jura mountains. But, I ride a not so light bike with 180mm suspension in the front and 160mm in the rear, I’m happy that I can pedal the whole way up.
In general, trails are very nice. A mix of dirt, rocks and roots that never gets boring. Soil is quite sandy so it dries fast. Mud is much worse in other places were it’s simply not possible to pedal the way up. Local trail builders leave chicken exits for every crazy jump. Most drops are about 50 cm high, so lot’s of fun.
So, highest vertical climb is about 500m (Hombergegg). For marketing purposes, video from local bike hero and awesome mechanic Fabian Küttel. I bent the derrailleur a few days ago in this trail and Mr. Küttel brought the bike back to life

Right in the little town of Suhr, there’s a 250m vertical climb with nice single trail on the way down. This is how it looks in trailforks website. The local forest admin closed it for a while for the “environment”, people complained a lot during covid and the trail is open once again.

But, I can take the train to Zug one day to ride the real mountains. I’m on 100% home office
