I’ve got a wise card and a small sum of CAD recently transferred to my Swiss USB account.
Wise won’t accept CAD transfers from anywhere but from Canada.
I’m travelling to Canada this summer and I’d like to transfer some of these CAD to a debit card that I can use while travelling.
Can someone suggest another multi-currency card that would accept a CAD transfer from a Swiss CAD account?
Wise has been less than helpful, refusing (with fees) attempted transfers from a Canadian bank. Only those with a business account can do that.
It's a bit roundabout, but can you convert your CAD to CHF, transfer to your Wise account as CHF, then convert to CAD again?
You're going to get double-fees, but at least you've got it in a spendable form in Canada.
Thanks for the suggestion, but that is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. And I really don’t want to reward Wise for their inefficiency.
If there was another card that would accept my money without conversion I would move my business there.
Revolut might let you do that.
Maybe currency fair.
Neon bank too, but they use Wise for currency stuff.
Just spent a half hour on the Revolut site trying to determine if they would accept a CAD transfer from a CH account. Their Chatbot Rita is useless.
Does anyone have a SwissQuote debit card?
On the Revolut app, it seems one can add CAD to one's account and there seem to be no restrictions. If you select bank transfer - there's only a heading that says "For cross border transfers only" and it gives you a GB IBAN and that's it. So can't see why you can't add money from your UBS CAD account. But do figure out how much UBS will charge you
When I add CAD it shows me the same account as for any transfers, it only tells me to use a Swift transfer. It is a LT IBAN, not GB.
Maybe try with a couple of CAD?
