Neighbor banging my apartment wall

Back when I was in University, I was living in a bachelor apartment that had somewhat thin walls. I enjoyed playing a little acoustic guitar after a hard day of studying, unfortunately my neighbour did not. The first time he banged on the wall, I just thought it was a one time deal and he had a test the next day or something. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, plus I hated confrontation. Then it kept happening, even if I was playing suuuper quietly at around 8pm.

Everytime I heard that bang, it just built up more and more rage inside of myself. "How could someone be so insane???" I thought to myself. The rage built up to an extreme level, until one night as I was trying to relax and unwind with my guitar, there he was with that cringe inducing bang on my wall. BAM BAM BAM. I completely blew my top off, transformed into the hulk, and pounded the living crap out of that wall with earth shaking rage while screaming out "SHUUUUUT THE UP!!!!!!".

He never knocked again.

Having said this, I don't think you should do the same. If you don't want to talk in person, I recommend maybe slipping him a note that clarifies when quiet hours are, he'll get the point. But if you don't do anything..... you might have a future "hulk-out".

Koni, I think you left out a word in your narrative ...

Sorry to ask this here, but I often see the 10pm time for the evening quiet time, but what is the normal morning time? I don't think I've ever heard an official time that it is ok to make noise in the morning.

In my neck of the woods, no noise before 7am.

At 07:01, however, every single power tool in the canton fires up.

7am for me here too.

A recent new neighbour of mine started moving in at 7am on a Saturday. Needless to say, I wasnt impressed but he had every right to.
