I think that things are getting a bit confused! Amanda started the thread, she has just moved to Delémont and was just looking I think to ,introduce herself and meet some English speaking friends in a predominantly French speaking canton. Seems reasonable!
I wrote to say I am in the process of starting a move to St Ursanne, close by and I got some nice replies. I am also interested in Odile"s skiing thread.
At the moment, I am still living in Senegal, I am British, my wife is originally Senegalese and with 3 kids we are all bilingual English and French.
It will be another year before we get to Jura, so apologies if I have hijacked Amanda's thread. I will retire from it for now but best wishes Amanda.
Feel free to post on here as much as you like as it is all totally relevant to you too or maybe pop over to the introductions part of the forum and introduce yourself there.
Things just got a little bit confused when Wolli posted a reply to Amanda right in the middle of the discussion about skiing. Not your fault at all.
And welcome to Switzerland in advance. St Ursanne is a lovely little place and I'm sure you'll be very happy there. I live down at the bottom between Neuchatel and Bienne so not too far away either.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I am from So Cal as well. I grew up in PV, but I have lived in OC for the past 15 years.
I am about to move to Delémont from the UK and my family will follow in April. We have an 8 year old son and a 6 year old daughter whose first language is English. They do not speak a word of French and would surely be happy to meet children they can speak in English to. You can email me on [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) if you want.
Best regards,
Till
Good luck on your future move. As you can see from earlier messages, we will be moving close to Delémont hopefully within a year. Coincidently, I just received pre approval from the Canton for a B permit. I can now start the process of building a house in St-Ursanne. I am originally from the UK but I have been in Dakar, Sénégal for the last 6 years. We have 3 now bilingual kids age 11,8 and 3. Hope to maybe meet up at some future point.
