Get a new car with a lease at next nothing percent and keep it until you've done the km the garage guarantees it for. So BMW I know is 100'000 km. Depending on how you use it, that will take you at a guess 7 or 8 years. Sure the guarantees will run out long before then, but they know the car will last 100K, they just want you to get a new one.
I beg to differ on this. A lot of second cars seem to have a lot of bells and whistles you don't really want or need that they want to charge you for.
I agree. I get 20-35% discount on new car prices from several car companies via my company discount, so it is a better deal than buying second hand. With the 0.9% leasing, it’s nice to have the cash sitting on your account instead of already fully spent on the car.
BUT, the OP is new in Schweiz, new job, etc., things may not work out. Leasing is a long term 3-4 year commitment. I would recommend buying second hand first. Once feeling more settled, then check if the employer provides a discount and see what kind of leasing offers exist.
