I'm a non-EU living in Switzerland and have a C permit. This year I have an opportunity to join a small startup company and I've decided to take it. However, the company is located overseas and has no office or branch in Switzerland (I'll work remotely). The company has little knowledge in dealing with the Swiss system.
So I wonder, 1) does C permit allow me to work for a non-swiss company while living in Switzerland? 2) is it worth the effort to do something indirectly, e.g. start an Einzelfirma and have a consulting contract with this startup instead of direct employment? Does it make any sense?
Any other general advice is much appreciated. Thank you!
Thanks for the advice! Setting up GmbH seems to incur significant overhead in administration and accounting (versus Anobag), not sure if it's really compulsory in this case or just an option that makes sense only if the business is big enough?
I hope I'll make some progress this and next week. If anything interesting comes up, I'll update here.
