Hi all

I applied through the new eportal on 14-6. The confirmation was sent out on 15-6 and received on 20-6.

Does this confirmation mean that I passed the first preliminary check “Vorprüfung”?

I was on L permit for 2 years that’s why I might still be short on one year still but thought it’s good to start with my application already.

It's difficult to read. From what I can make out the first line says

(Ihr?) EinbürgerungsGesuch - EmpfangsBestätigung

That means it's a confirmation of receipt. There's bound to be additional detail but the rest is too small.

This is just to confirm that your application has been received. You are very optimistic to expect the preliminary check within 24 hours after submission

I thought you need to meet all requirements before the application, is it not the case?

At least in BS yes, you should not apply until you meet the requirements. I think OP is asking whether his application has been accepted as meeting the minimum requirements or just received.

Yes, i do meet all the requirements except the residency period, i might be short on one year, not sure though and heard lots of exceptions. So i thought why not give it a try and specially with the new digital platform.

It's an interesting experiment.

According to the naturalization handbook, the residence requirement is checked at the cantonal and federal level. Not sure if the Canton is going to check that in the "Vorprüfung" stage or once the commune approves and the documents return to the canton.

Interesting indeed, maybe by the time I reach these checks I would have covered the residence period requirements.
