Not a Lot of fun

Well sometimes it is "Take it or leave it.". You cannot force the people at the airport to do something.

And that is the choice, "Take it, or leave it and deal with it yourself"

Exactly what Notallthere said.

They might not do anything about the discomfort but they certainly owe you an apology regarding safety (baby seat etc).

Your poor wife, that must have been nerve-racking.

In some situations the safest solution is an official airline cab ride instead of hanging at the airport throughout the night, alone with a baby.

OP - I don't think you will get anywhere complaining officially. But you yourself might feel better. I'd have opted for driving them there with stops on the way, if I were you, instead of having a 1yr old baby exposed to recycled plane air, considering the pandemics. And how long it actually took, in the end, anyways.

Sounds like "I've been travelling" to me. The unexpected and the unconventional solutions for it are part of the fun.

In my experience the solutions are not even offered and have to be found oneself.

Sure, OP can complain. But if it really annoyed them, it will only prolong the annoyance.

Enjoy the holiday and look forward to the adventures on the way home.

"Plane Air" is refreshed continuously, 15 time per hour and they use HEPA filters.

You could also post some kids on tractors photos, I'll share mine through email My butt is still shaking from the seat. The absolute fav is the tractor/lawnmower. Hick joys.

I know these long trips, done so many. Cars, buses, planes, trains. Train is the best.

The airline will record your complain and bin it immediately. They did everything by the book and own you nothing. If I were you I would file a complaint to a taxi company. Is a child seat mandatory requirement in Poland ?

https://ec.europa.eu/transport/road_...t_belts_en.htm

Here you go:

Going abroad - Poland

Child seats are not compulsory in:

taxis

Child seats are total regulatory BS.

Fortunately NOT required in sidecars.

Tom

You have a good point here. Driving distance between 2 airports is 4hrs which already exceeds 3hrs limit by European directive.

But, there is one subtle issue - covid.

EU forces airlines to reduce services and I bet this can be qualified as extraordinary circumstances

I guess its worth a try to claim 250 euros but slim chances to get this out of LOT.

yea, all this non-sense about Polish "Schumacher", "old car", "12 hours on road" and "child seat" is just exaggeration without any hard facts.

I'm not sure about booking the seat, but when the little people in my life came to visit me, they always came with their own, appropriately sized, safety seats. Flying them is free; they don't count towards the baggage allowance, but you have to drop them off and pick them up with the 'special baggage'. After all, you were going to need a child seat to get from the airport to the family and just 'around' at your destination anyway.

Every time I set foot into a airport ,My mouth opens and out comes " I hate flying"

Yeah. And you are not a baby. Imagine babies..

I can be !

If the airline doesn't reply in a few weeks...I suggest to post your story publicly on their FB and/or Twitter page.

with his story its a waste of time

I know.

Just a bit older than 1 year and a bit bigger than 13 kilos.

The airline has a duty of care. They are primary legally responsible for hte discharge of that care.

The airline has a duty of care. They are primary legally responsible for hte discharge of that care.

However, I always deal with these issue myself and then bill the airline. I've never not been paid for my expenses. I never ask for, or expect, compensation.

Now, I don't know how other airlines are but EasyJet seem to deliberate confuse claiming compensation with expenses. They're two quite different things. So you need to be careful with exactly what you're claiming for.

(Tom - you groaned me. You can do better than that, I'm sure).
