Officially from the oneplus.net site you need an address in an eligible country.
.EU site isn't official. You will likely be charged import duty. It won't be covered by opo officially for warranty purposes.
As for the Indian oneplus updates it depends if they limit updates by location or imei. Either way you can fastboot load the official OPO ROM quite easily to stay up to date.
I got the invitee from the forums from a random good person. I ordered it to come to Germany using http://www.swiss-paket.de/ . Got the phone on time (it was sent from UK). Went to swiss-paket, payed 2.5 eur, passed the border and payed the customs.
My solutions - order the phone straight from AliExpress. Why bother with local retailers, while the you can buy that phone directly from a China based internet shop that has international shipping.
It's still available on the official site - and I was (am?) that close to getting one (registered, the lot) ..... it's just the size that is putting me off - and the fact that between my iPad mini and 4" basic Android phone, it's hard to justify getting it, as it would make these other two, relatively surplus to requirements.
But it's just so big - I carry my current phone in my jeans pocket, with other rubbish, including a Swiss Army knife on a chain - I can't see a five-and-half incher fitting as comfortably.
..... and I know it's comparable sized to other phones on the market, but I've never been tempted by them, like I am this one - and always steered clear of considering a phone almost as big as my mini.
I will bite my tongue and avoid any inappropriate size-related jokes
This was also the issue I had with the One Plus One. Bought it not realising how bit it was. I have little hands and so worried that I wouldn't be able to comfortably use it, but the volume and power buttons etc are quite low down, so manage it fine. Can't even come close to fitting the phone in my pockets, but luckily I'm a girl and so can throw it in my handbag with all sorts of random assorted junk.
