Lovely send off, Frank Sinatra singing "I'll Be Seeing You" was played for her, Chopin's Nocturne after the committal (very appropriate as my late uncle was Polish). God, being stuck in this Covid situation is really getting to me today, seeing family on screen I haven't seen since the beginning of last year and none of them getting any younger
It’s times like these that the separation from our loved ones hits even harder.
My condolences to you and your family.
Although I am ‚happy‘ that it happens in times when we have so many options to ‚see‘ others (remembers times when she had to save up for weekly calls to mum. ..).
Hope you can still have a happy Christmas time
My aunt and uncle died within two days of each other and he was the last surviving sibling of my father who was one of seven so it was the end of an era too.
It was really tough. Funerals were very limited at that time and to see my two cousins with their spouses on opposite sides of the crematorium far apart and nobody else there at all other than the funeral directors was really strange.
It was really well done and lovely for all the rest of the family to be able to take part virtually but it was weird nevertheless.
My condolences to you and your family.
Another sad day for someone else, a friend from home, his mum passed away last night, the family were warned at the weekend she might not live until Christmas.
Let's just all make the best of this Christmas, be kind to each other and think about family and friends. It's more important than fancy gifts at the moment.
