Orange mobile phone insurance

Nope...

Maybe but The Zürich do pay a no claims rebate after a certain number of years with no claims though which this would disqualify you from. Can't remember how much or how many years though.

Back on the Orange insurance, when I declined the guy in the shop commented that so would he. It covers almost nothing we're not all (OK, most of us) are covered for anyway.

Just for information , I dropped my phone this morning and shattered my screen accidentally, called my orange security insurance (now salt) and was told it's not covered as the damage was not caused by a 3rd party, event or action. I was basically told that had I told them someone bumped into me and I dropped my phone it would have been covered. AIG are the underwriters and I was absolutely fuming. Been paying the premium for 3 years and one time you really need it, it's not covered. Please be warned to get your story straight before calling the insurance company .

WTF? If a 3rd party damages your phone, their liability insurance would have to pay and yours wouldn't have to legally. The whole point of having additional insurance is coverage for cases like yours - if they don't cover that, it's for nothing. I know why I keep getting AppleCare+ for my Apple devices. Plus I have a home insurance package that includes damage to electronic devices such as mobile phones etc., even if I'm the culprit. If your home insurance is Mobiliar, it might be worth asking them about it.
