However stuff that is really important or valuable (such as my last iphone or Unifi UDM Pro) I do pick up from one of their shop fronts that is close to me.
I ordered a trim router on Friday after lunch, expecting it to be delivered on Saturday. The tracking confirmed it had arrived at the sorting centre (2km from my house) on Friday evening.
On Saturday it didn't arrive, I got an updated notification from Swiss Post...that it will arrive NEXT Saturday.
I have never stipulated Saturday only delivery. I can imagine it will be next to impossible to get through the Swiss Post. Should I complain to Digitec/Galaxus?
During the Galaxus checkout, there is a box relating to Saturday delivery. If you select this, your order will arrive on a Saturday , if not possible the Saturday after. So apparently you selected this, so nothing is wrong with the delivery… they are working according to your instructions.
There is nothing that Galaxus can do now , they have given the order to the Swiss Post: “Deliver on Saturdays” is a service provided by the Swiss Post , actually at an extra charge (but Galaxus does not charge extra as far as I recall). https://www.post.ch/en/sending-parce…urday-delivery
Or you can pick it up at a local migros (must be the delivery address) or at a digitec branch.
You are not quite correct about the Saturday delivery option. This option says "allow Saturday delivery" which is a default setting on all my orders, and they get delivered any day of the week except Sunday. Unchecking this option simply means they would get delivered Mo-Fr.
Why would you pay the surcharge for something that's most likely to be an ordinary delivery? I can already hear the complaints about the "rip-off".
I'm guessing Galaxus is paying this extra fee if they think the product will be delivered on Saturday, otherwise choosing the normal weekday delivery service from Post. The only problem is when they assume Post will deliver it on Saturday but for one reason or another they don't, then it's stuck in this Saturday delivery mode.
