To be honest, I wasn't thinking of a garden as much as your parsnips... especially if you are going to be away...
Our hamlet is patrolled night and day by armed to the teeth customs officers- 3 of which are neighbours who look after our pad especially well when we are away, bless them. And we always get somebody to live in to look after our animals, including our very large dog... and parsnips anyway.
