Those are some very interesting dogs. Are you missing your dogs? Is it an anxiety dream (mine always have to do with skipping classes all semester)
Not having any dog dreams myself, just really missing my sweet girl. I do keep hearing noises, and think she’ll come around the corner, but of course she’s not here. Am starting to look at ethically bred pups and some rescues. Lily was actually my first dog, though I had a roommate in the 1980‘s with a dog. The dog was excellent, the roommate was meh. I agreed to buy a house in the US so I could have a dog. Two years later, we sold the house and came here with the dog.
I do miss them, but then I always have. You are probably right: It's just a different focus from the classic anxiety dream--Final exam day/never been to class/unknown subject/exam is in Chinese or dissolves upon reading/no clothes/only way out is tiny hole in the ceiling. lol. I just wonder why the dogs at this late date? I wonder how much to attribute to the pandemic. It seems to have messed with a lot of things. Sorry to OT your thread... maybe we need a thread on pandemic-related exacerbations.
I went through a period of night terrors a few years ago, it was awful. I would second the comment about stress - the specific content of the dream is rarely relevant but the emotion behind it (fear / anxiety / grief etc.) usually has a root cause in your daily life, whether that's stress, depression, grief, burnout... you get the idea. Whatever it is, I hope you're okay, and that the bad dreams pass soon!
This is so lovely!! Before I left the UK, I got together with Zola's siblings' owners - it was beautiful mayhem. 14 black labradors running around together!! My idea of heaven ❤️
