PCR Test Costs

48 hours for the result is very unimpressive.

Certainly the cheapest in the Basel region, although I think it's only open to passengers?

I think they were punting 24-32 hours typically but I suspect longer. 156,- for travel IIRC which is marginally cheaper than the airport but I don't have to go to the airport, park at the airport, etc etc.

We've done the Saliva PCR Test in Geneva at M3 sanitrade, CHF 155 incl travel certificate.

Took the test at 4pm and received the results next morning via email at 8.30am. btw they didn't seem to be very busy.

Andres Pharmacy at Zürich Stadelhofen charges 133,5 chf (106 for the laboratory and the rest for taking the sample). You can book via internet. Well organised. Did the test on a Friday afternoon, got the result in the evening.

Still a lot of money... considering that in France (Paris) all the tests are free

25 hours, results in. With a phone call

Hi all,

New to this forum thank you for the nice welcome in my previous post.

I am frustrated and frustrated is an understatement!

I need to fly back to Switzerland and the cost apparently of a Covid 19 test from boots is 130-180 Sterling!!!!

How can someone charge that for a Covid 19 test then on top of that to fly back for a funeral I have to pay for one in Switzerland price unknown as I haven’t flown from Zurich this year yet.

I assume it will be something like 130CHF

And then on top of that I have the same again for a test to fly back!!!!

On top of airfare!

I understand Covid 19 is life threatening and all but still this frustrated me a lot!

I’m hopefully the travel announcement on the 17th of May they reduce the Covid 19 travel cost for tests because it’s just crazy

Rant over.

Miss the funeral, they will never know.

Tom

You don’t need a PCR test for the U.K., a rapid antigen test is sufficient and they’re free here. All you would have to lay would be the 10 or 15chf fee for the travel certificate.

You would need to buy the days 2 and 8 test package for the U.K. and quarantine though so you’d have to be back well in advance of the funeral to allow time for that.

Hi thanks for the info! That’s super cool I didn’t know that they were so cheap in CH!

Clearly it’s the U.K. that’s difficult then! What’s the 2 and 8 day package if you don’t mind me asking I haven’t flown since December can I not just get a free one from NHS?

There's a thread here about PCR test costs in Switzerland:

https://www.englishforum.ch/family-m...est-costs.html

I think you should familiarise yourself with all the requirements before you make any travel plans. It takes a bit more organisation these days.

Why is this under Switzerland complain corner? Isn't it the UK that asks for all those tests?

Could you please provide more details. Where can you get a free antigen test ?

A thread ranting about the costs of PCR tests in the UK was merged with this one.

https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home...ov/testen.html

https://www.ihre-apotheke.ch/fr/2113/Tests-COVID-19.htm

Yup, merged after my comment

It doesn’t really belong here either in my opinion since it mostly relates to the UK not Switzerland.

I would have merged it with one of the (UK) travel threads personally.

Twasn't me wot merged.

Nope, you don't need to fly through Euroairport.

1 friend travelled by train, another flew from Zürich.
