pecan pie recipe ?

ok.. moving on from pecans...

cherry pie... tapioca ( for thickening ) or not?

When I make my black forest cake I just use a bit of cornstarch mixed with water. It makes the cherries look clouded at first but they boil up to be clear and glossy.

Never tried tapioca. I use corn starch as well, but I actually prefer arrowroot-but have never tried to find it since living in Switzerland. Any ideas whether it might be found here?

now... on to the pie...

as I said this was my first pecan pie... and I made a couple of mistakes

( pecan - chocolate pie... followed one recipe but bittersweet chocolate took over from the pecans )

and... cooked it a bit too long :-( ( the exposed crust is overdone )

( and as per someones suggestion above.. served with a dollop of bourbon-cream

EDIT.... Arrowroot found

arrowroot and golden syrup on the same page... looks like pie heaven!
