Thanks so much for all the answers... guess we'll have to give up shopping in Germany, skiing in Italy and eating in France until we get the South African passport for our baby. (Apparently that takes 6 months at best.)
Well our Gemeinde was nice and reprinted them for free and added it into the original. Many years from now it would be uncool if my daughter needed to grab a copy for some reason and it said she was stateless haha.

Just wanted to share my experience.
My wife gave birth two weeks ago and one week after the birth I received an 'Invitation' to our local Gemeinde. I had to bring along the birth certificate (which was received on the same day), our passports and B-permits, and of course a few CHFs..
Because our son is non-EU we have to go and sort out his biometrics next week (they will take his photo and fingerprints), and soon thereafter
(I am told a couple of weeks) he will receive his B-permit with all the same details as ours (my wife and I).
