Permit when hosted by a friend

Hallo all,

A week ago I moved to Zurich where I will start working (unlimited contract) on the 3rd of October.

I am an EU citizen (Greek) and moved here from Denmark where I was living the last 8 years.

I was told that within the first 14 days I need to apply for a residence permit. So, I booked an appointment with the corresponding Kreisbüro for tomorrow.

The issue is that I am currently hosted by a friend but have no documentation proving this. So, my question is what kind of documentation is needed for that (tenancy agreement?)?

Just ask your friend to write a letter confirming you live at his address. That's what we did. If you're paying rent as a subtenant, then the subtenancy agreement should be used.

Since you're EU citizen it's just a formality, a one-liner should do. They basically need an address to send whatever needs sending to.

Something like this should do

"Ich,

, bestätige dass losp seit dem und bis auf Weiteres bei mir wohnt."
