We're thinking of you over here, although I can offer no practical help, I'm very, very sorry to hear this sad news. I know how much it hurts to lose a pet. Just make sure to give your furball tons of love before the end.
Sorry -- I know this is redundant, but it's always nice to hear people care.
I am so sorry to hear about your dog Brightonite. 13 years is a good long life for a dog, but I know that to you it seemed too short. Sometimes it seems so unfair that they don't live as long as we do.
I am definitely with Mrs Doolittle on this one. You should think about getting yourself another dog. It may seem like you are replacing your old friend, but really it is just gaining a new friend, and will help ease the pain of your loss. Not to mention that there are always dogs in need of a good home.
So sorry to hear his time came so soon. I haven't been through this yet and I just dread the thought but I hope when the time comes with one of ours I will be as brave as you.
One visit to the vet I saw a woman leaving who was sobbing and I decided that every vet's office should have a separate entrance for these situations.
I shouldn't read this while pregnant... I am so emotionnal and it did make me cry. I am so so sorry for you lost! This is a very difficult time. My heart is with you.
So sorry Sybil123. Almost a year to the day of us losing our Jack Russell we also lost his and our constant companion, Tog a Cocker Spaniel who was also unluckily 13, because a bad diagnosis from an incompetent veterinarian. Both dogs were cremated at http://www.tierkremation.ch/ and we have been very impressed with their caring services.
