Check with your insurer. Many policies include dog liability in Privathaftpflicht - mine does, covering us to 5 mio.

But don't leave that to chance, especially if you live in a canton where liability insurance is mandatory. Also check that you are insured for the appropriate sum - some cantons require 1 mio, some 3 mio, etc. Be aware if you have a listed breed in a BSL canton there may be additional insurance requirements.

Your current insurer will be able to answer all your questions - and if it turn out that you need additional insurance your current insurer will likely give you a decent deal as you already have a policy with the company.

Cheers. I must admit, I didn't want to go thrashing into the small print of my policy armed only with Google Translate if there was no chance of them being covered anyway.

We're in ZH, so it's mandatory and minimum cover is 1m. I only registered them yesterday, so today's job is sorting out insurance and finding an SKN course in English.
