Peugeot 308 distribution broken at 60000 km

found that on google.

question is indeed if any french car would reach 10 years, let alone 240k km

Seems to be hard to get a definitive spec on this. I did find one site that suggests 120 months but they have to be kidding.

Peugeot Australia quote this;

Cambelt requires replacement at: 80,000 km, 120,000 km or 180,000 km intervals or at 4, 6 or 9 years whichever comes first, depending on model, as

detailed in the Vehicle Service & Information Booklet

So in theory you could go 9 years - eek!

Another reason to avoid belt driven cam cars. Ridiculously expensive service when they have to strip down the cam cover to change the belt. Not cheap.

Very true. The last decent (possibly only) French car was the Pug 404. Everything since then has been below par when compared to Japanese or German.

Your garage is not interested in helping you, but maybe the Peugeot main distributor would be interested?

Are you a TCS member, they can fight for you as well.

80k or 5 years would be the longest I would leave a cam belt, if I was dumb enough to buy a car with a belt!
