Pfister sales season, not a good choice!!!

Me for one. If you still want to use it and it’s fine why bother to buy something new? And yes, a lot of it is Ikea and has made two or three moves in its life. Some of it was my OH’s before we even met so a good 30+ years old. Still looks good, does the job it was designed for so why would I want to pay 6 times over the odds for the same thing from a place like Pfister?

Fixed the small error in the original

Even our cheap stuff from Conforama was purchased in 1992 ! My desk here is from about 1890. The bookshelf is from around 1870. The cupboard from around 1946. One bed from 1956 and the other from 1992. An easy-chair from about 1920. The thing for clothing etc etc is from about 1980 . A kind of "container" in the cellar is from around 1860 or 1870 . Some other stuff dates back to the 1970ies. Only very few things are from the past 10 years.

And then, bear in mind that Möbel Pfister for ages, in times when Rosenberger&Hollinger dominated the scene, was THE CHEAP force on the market. Things changed when Conforama and TopTip and MICasa started. But this was far after 1980. MP however at that time had been around for decades.

You keep receipts for furniture back from the 1870's Wolli?

Now, why doesn't that surprise me.....

Its on a tablet from Moses

Joke accepted, but some of the furniture was rescued from Köln to Schaffhausen during WW-I and other things were inherited from relatives and the age can only be estimated by the style, but the receipt for the cupboard of 1946 is still around somewhere many people here have furniture of between 1850 and 1980 --- add to this that Mum knew all about all this, and I talked with her about all this just a month before she passed away

Sure

It's not hard to check the wholesaler prices for hardboard, soft board and that special low end pine with more knots than timber. Selling for 200 franks a heap of material worth at most 10 franks sounds like a high margin business to me. Meanwhile I have recently had a Spanish craftsman make me a wardrobe for 800 euros. Not even more expensive than some of the stuff from Ikea. He spent 250 euros on the wood. He showed me the bils.

While I like the style of Conforama, I detest the style of IKEA

I wanted to share my very positive experience with the Pfister delivery service. We bought a trundle bed on sale a couple of weeks ago at a very reasonable price, and the delivery guys have just left. They were scheduled to come between 10-12 am, but I had told customer service that I'd prefer that they come as early as possible. They said that they would let us know if an earlier time slot became available, and we got a phone call at 8:15 am this morning saying that they could come by 8:30 if we wanted them to, which was perfect.

They were here right on time, carried the bed up 2 flights of stairs without complaining, assembled it in the guest room and added felt pads so our wooden floors would be protected (their own initiative), and placed the non-Pfister mattress we had ordered separately on the bed without me having to ask. They also made sure everything was clean before leaving

This is the second time we've bought furniture from them and had it delivered and overall, I'm very happy with the whole customer experience! (which is not always the case here...)
