Just sharing this for the fun of this, to feed the conspiracies
I had bought a Galaxy Note 10+ on discount a couple of years back to replace my aging phone, which I actually got around to start using only a few months back.
Today, I realized the back cover started to separate, a bit similar to this thread . It could be just the glue giving up, but it is also possible that it is now a time bomb due to bulging battery. So, I checked the receipt from Digitec for warranty information:
And it was rather surprising to see that the phone was bought on 24.09.2020, and had two year warranty, which expired on 24.09.2022. It is just amazing that only one day after warranty expiration, the phone casing failed. I guess, I should get it replaced as soon as possible. Or, is this how Big Brother is telling me to do another impulse buy
Oh well, that is good timing on Samsung's part. After 2 years you start to find out that the Android version is getting too old for some essential apps (eBanking etc.) , so a replacement is forced on you anyway, bulging battery or otherwise.
My current rant against Samsung is that an app called AppCloud presented itself as an "upgrade", installed itself across the mobile network without due warning, proceeded then to install a whole load of unwanted apps, mainly games, and, in the process, recklessly consumed about 700MB of my 1500MB allowance. I am, until the end of the month, on a throttled bandwidth which makes the phone grim to use.
The first iPod I had failed a few days into out of warranty. I never bought an iThing again. Especially as the failure would have been easily rectified if they'd chosen a hard drive that could be replace by consumers.
OTOH, a Sony I had failed a couple of months before the warranty expired - an update that was pushed by Australian Sony while we were there bricked my phone and my daughter-in-law's Sony on the same day - both phones repaired, and given an additional 2 year's warranty.
My phone is somewhere in Ukraine being used by the military. (I gave it to one of our guests, and then she sent it home).
