Photos of what you cook and bake

I love a nice fat rascal, I make them quite often.

Oh-my-god. They serve it along a pill of Lescol, and a shot of insuline, no? :open_mouth:

The mum of one of our neighbourhood friends used to make parkin for us kids on Bonfire Night (5th November). I called it “parking” because I would constantly get corrected for missing the “g” off words.

After the sucess of a lamb shoulder out if the air fryer I tried it again, this time with a neck of lamb.
Same result, absolutely divine.

The dark green stuff is home made mint sauce.

By the way, the parkin is fantastic after a few days in a container

I think I have to dive down into my kitchen cupboard and get that air fryer again.

And then start dreaming about lamb for sFr. 11.00/kg.

Oh do, never thought I would say this but I love my airfryer.

yeah, I wasn’t all that impressed by it, which is why it went into pension in the bottom of my cupboard. But you sparked new interest.
Keep posting what you do with it.

I love making crisps with it for instance.
Movie night, bowl of crisps, salt 'n vinegar, Sarsons vinegar of course.

Of course. Trouble is, I still didn’t find it here. It’s “out of stock” everywhere.

Just saw British cheese deli (that’s grumpy grapefruits old shop) has it. For a very fair Fr. 3.80 but 15.00 shipping.

edit: Does anyone know the englishgrocer.ch?
ah, found this, not too good.

I keep editing in order to avoid the system telling me to get a room with Slammer.
@Slammer, I found a site that sells Sarson’s AND Asafoetida.
But is it normal to contain all this stuff as well??
“Reismehl, Stabilisator: E414 Gummi Arabicum, Teufelsdreck, Kurkuma, WEIZENMEHL.”

A cake to cry about

Hey, on your upcoming trip to Luins for your Malakoffs you can stop by Gland and pick some up at Jim’s. They currently have the large 528ml bottles in stock.

Their shipping is f9.

That’s no good, you need the brown malt vinegar.
It probably tastes the same but the white stuff just doesn’t look right.

naaa, I want the malt vinegar. But you’re right, they got it on stock too. Thanks.

I don’t know what the white stuff is but BelgianMum is right, it just doesn’t look right. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

This is the stuff most commonly sold in the asia shops.

It only says that it is made in the same place where wheat flour is handled.

It’s €2.50 a tub.

Thanks so much. It’s the same product and - would you believe - the same price here.
This site I found is so cool! I not only (finally) got my malt vinegar and this Asafoetida which I wanna try but also the Tamarind paste I have been looking for for so long. Also the Ketjap Manis I like so much, used to buy in Holland and later in the Dutch shop which is too far away from me now and
 and
 and. Groovy day indeed

Sorry if we once again went off rail but hey! One needs ingredients to produce subjects for photos.

Wifey made aubergine rolls with dried tomatoes, rucola and frishchkÀse. I made sepia with majoram. Pair with chilled Hermitage.

Making sepia? Up until now I thought that is a shade of brown and now I am intrigued

It’s an animal from the sea, thus it tastes great.
