Pine martens and brake pipes

Ah yes, but then i never keep my cars long enough !

The mardershreck thing is 23kHz, +/- 15% (and yes, often you can hear them).

Kemo claims less that 2mA @12VDC, which wouldn't flatten your battery in anything like normal use.

Unfortunately NO LONGER legal or sold in CH.

The most important thing is to make sure your car insurance covers Pine Marten damage.

The little buggers ate some electrical cables on one of the cars and it shorted out the on-board compter. CHF 1'100 to replace.

Thankfully the insurance picked up the tab.

I will confess right now that I didn't read the whole thread. We had stone martens living under our deck in our ski chalet and the only thing that worked was moth balls that I brought back in a suitcase from the US. They were gone in a day, like magic, and they haven't been back in 4 years now. They've probably just gone to the neighbor's house, but I don't care.

My insurance covered the damage, which was extensive. It is also a very big hassle when you need your car and not able to use it.

The garage where I bought my car installed a device which is guaranteed to keep them away. It is manufactured in Switzerland. The device and installation was just under chf 600.

I wrote to my insurance company and asked if they would consider a discount on my premium because I have taken extraordinary measures to keep marders away. The agent said it was not something they had ever discussed but he could see my point.

..........sorry to say, you been Switzerlanded big time !
