Potentially 'import' from DE

Hi,

While looking for cars, I found an interesting one near the border with Germany.

The dealer "imported" --> more like bought the car from here (CH), but from my understanding they did not fully register it in DE, and he said they can cancel their part of the VAT paid.

He send me a photo of the tech book (don't really know how to call it in english) and I see that the last owner if from CH.

It has an 103 type entry as special remarks.

So question : if I buy it from them, do I still need to do the whole import thing (with paying the VAT + 4 % --> if I remember the correct value)? Or do I just go directly to the MFK + purchase insurance ?

Also, another question --> do cars here have the small slip (registration certificate) or they are not used here ?

And final question : what is exactly the "grey book" ?

Just to close the thread and make room for others:

- Found out that here the registration certificate is not used

- Stroke a deal with the dealer --> they handle the export (undo) and import (redo) because it is still a CH car (they only paid the VAT for import but did not officially fully import the car) / they will handle the MFK also and also made a better price --> I will not retrieve the VAT and hence , after all the paper work will be done I will just go to the STVA with a new insurance , pay for the licence plates .. go to the dealer / mount the plates and bought a "new" CH car
