When DHL does fund you, they will be entitled to charge you interest..........
At my place it is the opposite:
DHL always leaves note on the door and usually I collect later things at their depot.
UPS drops them in front of the apartment door (inside house) and
Swiss post either managed to push them in compartment or they leave a note. Shoebox just goes into my mail(milk)drawer/compartment if they push it hard
So seems like it is more to the decision of delivery man than the company's.
My wife's uncle (RIP) once told me about an incident he had in Bern during his student days, he got a job at Christmas as a sorter working for the Post. He was told to go down to the cellar to collect a trolly, when he did he discovered it was piled high with parcels - from the precious year! He said they just delivered then as normal - must have led to some interesting conversations...
I was confused....you mean "When DHL does find you..."
I get packets delivered to "Pickpost", in my case the post-office next to where I work. You need to register at the website of the post office www.poste.ch and this will only work for packets being sent through the post and not for packets delivered by courier services (DHL, UPS). This generally works well - you get a notification by SMS when the packet has turned up.
Just one last thing: I received a letter from post yesterday regarding my lost parcels. They said that according to their records, they have been sent on December 20th and they can not do more. They hoped this does not undermine my trust in their organization! Sooooo funny...
Oh no! Reading this post made me really really sad. I had a parcel from U.S sent. However, I was not in my appartment then. So, when I went to the post office to pick up, they could not find my box. As per the post office personnel, it was not scanned by the personnel? So, would that mean my box was stolen by the postman? I dont want to receive the insurance money ( it cant pay for the content tnough). I want really my box since some items have sentimental value. Though, 90% of the things sent to me were newly purchased.. Zurich post office, what's wrong?
