Pupil Allocation in Kurz Gymnasiums in Zurich

I was wondering what the process is in case a kurzgymi in Zurich is oversubscribed.

For instance, for the math profile in MNG Rämibühl I would imagine, there are tons of applicants, as this gymi is a very popular choice.

What happens if more kids passed the entrance exam than the number Rämibühl can take?

Did anyone have experience with this?

Thank you.

My daughter's teacher said this has never happened and somehow it all works out.

Being a primary school teacher who has sent many graduates to Langgymnasium, basically passing the exam guarantees a place at a public Gymnasium - but not in a particular Gymnasium. We have had some graduates shuffled from Rämibühl to Hohe Promenade, or vice versa, and there's always a chance of transfer after the two years ...

For Kurzgymnasium, I'm assuming they'd only transfer "excess" students to one with the same profile that you wanted.
