Question about Family reunion, non-EU

Hello, I know these kind of questions have been asked a lot in this forum and I have almost read all of them. But I still wanted to ask few questions. Recently, I my husband applied for his family reunion Visa in Bangladesh. I am Swiss. I just wanted to ask, does anyone know how long it takes in the canton of Vaud? Has anyone recently brought their spouse in this canton?

I also wanted to ask, what kind of job is in demand in Switzerland right now? My husband is a business major. In the mean time, can he do any sort of course or something that will make it easier for him to get a job here in Switzerland?

Thank you in advance!

Learn French? Check out if there are any companies here that are also in Bangladesh and may need a native speaker.

Hello everyone, I have written here before. But I still have more question. I already tried contacting Service de La population in Lausanne, but they haven’t answered.

So here you go:

I am a student in EPFL. I have the swiss nationality. I recently got married. However I don’t have any source of income. I do get bourse ( money for my education) from the government. My husband is from bangladesh. I believe I have to show financial proof that I can take charge of all his expenses. Clearly I can’t do that as I am a student. I can try get a job but the swiss government will only minus the money I earn from the bourse that they give me. So I won’t have enough for my husband. And I believe my parents can’t be his sponsor since they get financial aid from RI (revenu d’insertion).

Does any of you went through this? Can my husband show some kind of proof that he’ll take care of his own expenses? If so, how? Does he have to show bank solvency?

On the other hand, is it possible for my brother to be his sponsor (knowing that my brother won’t be sharing lodging with us)?

I would really appreciate if you could give your point of view on this.

Thank you in advance!

I've merged your threads to keep questions together. Hopefully someone will come along with an answer to your latest question.

Thank you!

OP, I suggest you just apply and see how it goes. Be aware though, if your spouse gets here, someone will have to pay their health insurance and living costs until they find a job, can you afford to do that?

OP’s questions have been merged into the other thread, over here:
